Message The TPS unit is actually more than one sensor. It has the rheostat component that will show a range of voltages depending on how wide the throttle is open, and that's what you're seeing on the ECU Talk.

It also has a binary switch that signals ON when the throttle is fully closed, and off when any amount of throttle is applied. This signal is what tells the ECU to go into open-loop mode. If yours isn't signaling when the throttle is closed, then your ECU doesn't know to idle...it keeps running the closed-loop EFI program.
